Serpa Cuts End-of-Line Footprint by 40% with New Integrated Case Packer/Palletizer

Oct 09, 2026

VISALIA, Calif. — Serpa Packaging Solutions, a leading manufacturer of secondary packaging equipment and integrated end-of-line solutions, will introduce its new Integrated Case Packer/Palletizer at PACK EXPO International 2026, October 18–21 in Chicago. Attendees can see live demonstrations of the new system at Booth S-3856.

Designed for manufacturers challenged by limited production floor space, the new system combines Serpa’s proven side-load case packer and dual-cell robotic palletizer into a single frame, delivering approximately 40% footprint savings compared with installing the two Serpa machines separately.

The serialization-ready system is particularly well suited for pharmaceutical, medical device and nutraceutical manufacturers where product tracking, aggregation and efficient transfer from carton to case to pallet are critical. The platform can also be applied to consumer packaged goods and other industries where application speeds and packaging requirements align with the system.

“Manufacturers are constantly looking for ways to get more productivity from the floor space they already have,” said Caden Johnston, Vice President of Sales at Serpa Packaging Solutions. “With this system, we’re bringing together two technologies Serpa has successfully engineered for years while maintaining the accessibility, flexibility and robust design our customers expect. It gives manufacturers a more compact end-of-line solution without making operators or maintenance teams sacrifice access to the equipment.”

Beyond its reduced footprint, the integrated system is engineered to simplify operation and help maximize production uptime. Key benefits include:

  • 40% footprint savings compared with separate Serpa case packing and palletizing systems
  • Sub-five-minute changeovers for increased production flexibility
  • Serialization-ready architecture for pharmaceutical and life-sciences applications
  • Easy Case Clear-Out that allows operators to quickly access and remove problem cases without tools
  • Improved operator and maintenance access throughout the machine
  • Case handling designed to accommodate natural variations in corrugated materials and help prevent case mispicks
  • 98% uptime guarantee backed by Serpa’s focus on rugged, reliable equipment design

The case packing portion incorporates Serpa’s proven dual-sided vacuum case erecting technology and case-guiding features designed to create a clean, consistent opening for product loading. A telescoping loading funnel extends into the case to help protect products from catching on raw corrugated edges during loading.

Integrating the palletizing operation immediately downstream also minimizes unnecessary conveyance between machine centers, creating a more consolidated end-of-line process and reducing the amount of production floor operators need to monitor.

“The goal was not simply to put two machines closer together,” Johnston added. “We wanted to create a truly integrated system that helps customers save valuable manufacturing space while making the entire case packing and palletizing process easier to operate, maintain and manage.”

PACK EXPO International attendees can see the new Serpa Integrated Case Packer/Palletizer demonstrated October 18–21, 2026, at Booth S-3856 and speak directly with Serpa experts about end-of-line automation applications.
